Al Hilal Wins Saudi Arabian King’s Cup After Defeating Al Nassr

Al Hilal successfully defended the Saudi Arabian King’s Cup title. The Blue Waves became champion after beating Al Nassr in a penalty shootout.

The Saudi Arabian King’s Cup final brought together two teams from Riyadh, Al Hilal vs Al Nassr. The duel took place at King Abdullah Sports City, Jeddah, Saturday (1/6/2024) early morning WIB.

Al Hilal immediately opened the scoring seven minutes into the match. Aleksandar Mitrovic who successfully broke into Al Nassr’s goal.

Mitrovic headed in Malcom’s cross from the right side. Al Hilal leads 1-0.

Al Nassr is trying to catch up. Cristiano Ronaldo’s shot in the 34th minute was blocked by Bono with his foot.

Ronaldo threatened again in the 42nd minute. This time his low ball was pushed over by Bono. Al Hilal led 1-0 until the first half ended.

Al Nassr almost equalized early in the second half. Ronaldo’s overhead kick in the penalty box hit the goal post.

RED CARD! Disaster struck Al Nassr in the 53rd minute. Their goalkeeper, David Ospina, received a red card for lunging at his opponent with his hand outside the penalty box.

Al Nassr got another chance ten minutes later. Ronaldo’s free kick was blocked by Bono, while saving Al Hilal’s goal from being conceded.

Bono again thwarted Al Nassr’s golden opportunity in the 83rd minute. This time he knocked out Ayman’s shot on target in the penalty box.

RED CARD! Al Hilal joined the game with 10 players in the 86th minute. Ali Al Bulaihi was sent off by the referee for headbutting Sami Al Najei.

Al Nassr finally equalized three minutes before normal time ran out. Ayman successfully beat Bono with his header, taking advantage of Alawjami’s throw-in.

RED CARD! Al Hilal experienced disaster again in the 89th minute. Kalidou Koulibaly received a second yellow card for violating goalkeeper Waleed Abdullah who was already in control of the ball.

The 1-1 score lasted until the final whistle sounded. The match continues into extra rounds.

Both teams failed to score a winning goal throughout 2×15 minutes of extra time. The winner must also be determined in the high-five round.

Al Hilal finally emerged as champions after winning the penalty shootout 5-4. Bono became a hero of The Blue Waves after ousting three Al Nassr executors.

This is Al Hilal’s 11th King’s Cup title in Saudi Arabia in history. Jorge Jesus’ troops also successfully won the domestic treble in the 2023/2024 season.
