Anderlecht’s Title Hopes Dwindle as Champions League Path Narrows

Anderlecht could win the title this season, but probably won’t. The chance is almost reduced to zero.

The Champions League also seems to be taking off. Unless Union drops points against Racing Genk, otherwise the Purple & White will finish third even with a win against Antwerp. That would be hard, because then there would certainly be no Champions League millions. RSCA needs this to really compete with Club Brugge again.

Marc Degryse had a conversation with Vandenhaute in January. “I remember the Golden Shoe Gala, when Wouter Vandenhaute told me that if Anderlecht could not become champions, second place would be at least as important, in order to beckon to the Champions League. That second place now also seems to be gone,” the analyst told HLN.
