Bayer Leverkusen is already working on the squad for the coming season. The new German champions have apparently set their sights on a German national player.
Maximilian Beier from TSG Hoffenheim could open a new chapter in his young career in the summer and move to German champions Bayer 04 Leverkusen. This is reported by the pay TV channel Sky. The “Werkself” are said to be clearly interested in the attacker. It is said that Beier would become an issue in Leverkusen, especially if Adam Hložek were to leave.
The 21-year-old’s contract in Hoffenheim runs until 2027. But: Beier probably has an exit clause in his contract. This should be 30 million euros. Leverkusen aren’t the only ones interested in the TSG professional’s services. There are also said to have been several inquiries for him from the Premier League.
Beier already nominated for the DFB team
Beier is having an outstanding season in the Bundesliga. The shooting star currently has 15 hits. It was only in the summer that he returned to Hoffenheim after two years. The club from Kraichgau had loaned him to Hannover 96 in the 2nd Bundesliga. Beier was convincing there too. He particularly stood out through his performances in the DFB Cup against Fortuna Düsseldorf and Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2021/2022, when he scored a brace in each case.
However, it was not necessarily foreseeable that Beier would prevail in Hoffenheim. At TSG he faced well-known competition at the start of the season. The team’s offensive was already well equipped with Ihlas Bebou, Wout Weghorst, Andrej Kramarić, Mergim Berisha and Marius Bülter. After two substitutions at the start of the season, Beier became an integral part of TSG’s starting eleven.
The development of the accurate striker did not go unnoticed by national coach Julian Nagelsmann. He nominated Beier for the international friendly matches against France and the Netherlands in March. The top talent was not used there, but he can still have legitimate hopes of participating in the European Championships.
