The location of Camila Giorgi in regards to Italian tax it gets more and more complicated. As of now, no one knows where she ended up (California and Argentina are the most likely destinations), yet the now former tennis player, who reappeared on Instagram, branded the alleged irregularities that emerged from the tax and tax assessments against her as fake news. Despite the denials of the interested party, Giorgi would really be at the center of an investigation by the Financial Police and owes the tax authorities a sum probably greater than the 464 thousand euros for which the Revenue Agency has presented “an act of seizure towards third at Federtennis”.
That’s right, according to the latest revelations from Corriere della Sera, Camila’s secrets are contained in the tax bill which led the employee delegate of the Florence Revenue Agency, Paolo Bracciali, to notify her of a first seizure on June 26th. Well it’s just an initial sum. Just a first tranche of taxes due on earnings worth approximately 6 million euros (excluding sponsorships), the earnings achieved with results on the field. Scrolling through the provision with which the Revenue Agency intends to repay, at least in part, the large debt owed to Giorgi, we discover that on 7 April 2023 the tennis player had received the first notice from the tax authorities. The reason? Giorgi turns out to be a total tax evader. That is to say that he has never filed a regular tax return.
Problems with the tax authorities would be a constant for the beautiful Camila. According to what has emerged in the last few hours, the player would have been acquitted in December 2023 by the Prato court in proceedings for failure to declare of income relating to the years 2013 and 2014, a period in which he was always abroad and in which he would not have submitted the tax return, nor would he have moved his tax residence. In those two years Giorgi was resident in the province of Como, then she moved to Tuscany between Pisa and Livorno, then since 2016 she has been resident in Calenzano (Florence). For the years 2015 and perhaps also 2016, the IRS would have already carried out other checks on your tax returns and notified you of the results.
Apparently also the father, the Argentinian Sergio Giorgi, a coach with an eccentric character and a quick-witted veteran of the Falklands, is found to be lacking in terms of contributions. Such carelessness towards the tax authorities risks worsening the situation for both. It should not be forgotten that the tennis player has another front open in Vicenza, where the magistrates have requested that she be prosecuted for false ideology regarding the green pass obtained without vaccination.
At this point Giorgi risks a double process. It is clear, however, that the tax (and criminal) investigations against him will continue.
There is a fortune, equal to around 6 million euros, on which no taxes have ever been paid. Could this have been the reason for such a hasty and mysterious withdrawal?
