Canada Wins Gold in U-18 World Championship Final Victory Over USA

In the final game, the Canadians defeated the USA team with a score of 6:4 (0:1, 2:2, 4:1).

The victory was secured by the Canadian national team in the second half of the third period, when they scored three goals in the majority of five minutes and reached 5:3 from 2:3. Gavin McKenna stood out for the Canadian national team with three goals.

Since 1999, when the world championship for U-18 national teams is played, Canadians have won five times. Last year’s champions, the Americans, are the most successful with 11 gold medals.

Meanwhile, Sweden beat Slovakia 4-0 (0-0, 0-0, 4-0) in the bronze medal game.

Latvian U-18 ice hockey players recognized Canada’s superiority in the quarter-finals and finished the championship in eighth position.
