Champions League: “happy holidays”, Borussia teased the eliminated PSG – Football

After reaching the Champions League final by eliminating Paris Saint Germain, Borussia Dortmund doesn’t miss the opportunity to tease the French giant via social media. “Have a good holiday”, reads a tweet with the image of a large yellow BVB hot air balloon flying over a sunny coast, two beach chairs on the ground and a large towel in the PSG colours. An ironic response to what the French club had published before the match where the yellow hot air balloon was seen sinking into the Seine.

In the heat of the moment, however, the German club had released a post with the writing “revenge is a dish that should be served cold”, a response to what the French had posted in 2020 after eliminating Borussia in the round of 16. There you could see the French team sitting on the pitch imitating Erling Haaland, then Dortmund striker, who often after a goal would put himself in the yoga position of meditation, sitting with his legs crossed and arms raised.

With Haaland gone, the German team finds itself in a position to win a European trophy for the first time, eleven years after the Champions League final lost to Bayern in 2013. The only ones in the current squad to have played then are Hummels and Reus, who hope to change that history: “If this time we don’t win the cup – they both said – it would be a real disappointment…”.
