Success went to Lando Norris (the first of his career) with a margin of 7.6 seconds over Max Verstappen, then Charles Leclerc third at 9.9 at the end of a solid race. Carlos Sainz was fourth at 11.4, fifth was a dull Sergio Perez at 14.6 while Lewis Hamilton was sixth at 16.5 after an extremely tough race. Yuki Tsunoda, George Russell, Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon complete the top 10.
At the end of today’s race the Mercedes team driver recounted what happened on the track: “Overall I would say that being able to recover positions and fight several battles is a good result. I stood next to a Red Bull and saw a Ferrari. I would say it was great for where we were.”
