Ducati Will Not Announce New Riders for the 2024 Italian MotoGP

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – News has circulated that Ducati will announce its riders for next season at the 2024 Italian MotoGP at the Mugello Circuit. However, this news was immediately denied by Ducati officials.

Quoted from Motorsport.com, Tuesday (28/5/2024), Ducati said it would never announce a new racer at Mugello. Ducati said, starting from Mugello, it would start making choices.

Ducati Corse General Manager Gigi Dall’Igna said a decision would be taken soon. But contracts are always complicated and negotiations can take longer than expected.

“We needed time to implement the idea, make it happen, and then communicate it to the public,” Dall’Igna said.

Ducati Corse Sporting Director Mauro Grassilli said the decision was as difficult as it was at the start of the championship.

“We have started to lay some important foundations and we are on the right track. But there will be no announcement at Mugello,” said Grassilli.

The situation at Ducati is quite complicated, because there are three riders fighting for one seat, namely Enea Bastianini, Jorge Martin and Marc Marquez. The three of them are competing to become Francesco Bagnaia’s teammate next season.
