Edmonton Dominates Dallas in NHL Western Conference Final Game 4, Tying Series 2-2

“Edmonton” won a strong-willed victory at home over “Dallas” (5:2) in the fourth game of the Western Conference final of the NHL playoffs.

In the very opening of the match, they took the lead thanks to goals from Wyatt Johnston (1′) and Esa Lindell (6′). The hosts responded with scoring shots from Ryan MacLeod (14′), Evan Bouchard (17′), Mattias Janmark (35′), Leon Draisaitl (36′) and Mattias Ekholm (59′).

Janmark and Draisaitl scored two goals 51 seconds apart. This is Edmonton’s best result in the NHL playoff semifinals since 1990.

Draisaitl is one of the top five playoff scorers in Edmonton history. The 28-year-old German has 65 matches in which he scored 103 (41+62) points. Only club legends Glenn Anderson (183), Jari Kurri (202), Mark Messier (215) and Wayne Gretzky (252) are higher.

Edmonton forward Corrie Perry made his debut in the series with Dallas and set a unique achievement. The 39-year-old Canadian became the first NHL player to play in the conference finals for five different teams. Previously, he played for Anaheim, Dallas, Montreal and Tampa Bay. In all four cases, Perry’s teams reached the Stanley Cup Final.

Dallas forward Evgeny Dadonov extended his unsuccessful streak to three matches. The 35-year-old Russian has two shots on target and one power move. In this playoffs, Dadonov played 17 matches and scored 7 (3+4) points.

Edmonton won the first home victory in this series and tied the score – 2-2. The fifth match will take place in Dallas on Saturday, June 1.
