Six sports modalities star in the Cabildo Games this weekend
More than a thousand children will participate in Canarian wrestling, table tennis, rhythmic diving, badminton, beach handball and volleyball activities.

Thus, on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 22, it will celebrate its thirteenth day in different areas of the Island starting at 5:00 p.m. While on Saturday the 25th it will define the fourteenth day at its usual time, starting at 10:30 a.m. Around 500 wrestlers from the pre-benjamín, benjamín, alevín and infantile categories will be mobilized for both days, under the watchful eye of the Canarian Island Wrestling Federation.
The counselor of Sports, Yolanda Molinehighlights that this Cabildo program “encourages active lifestyle habits of young people, motivating initiation into various sports modalities through meetings and conferences where fun and an environment of socialization and camaraderie will guide their development. Grassroots sports are promoted.”
The finals of tennis of tables arrive this Saturday at the Guamasa Sports Pavilion, in La Laguna. A hundred players will play their matches in two shifts, starting with the youngest and junior categories at 10:00 a.m., which will be followed by the children’s and cadets at 11:45 a.m. It is the Tenerife Island Table Tennis Federation that is in charge of organizing these days, together with the Sports Area of the Cabildo.
The fun-rhythmic will celebrate its only day at the XXXVII Cabildo Games on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. 250 gymnasts of all categories, from junior to junior, will meet at the Sports Pavilion of the Costa Adeje International School, in the municipality of Adeje, to share this meeting organized together with the Tenerife Island Gymnastics Federation.
On the other hand, the badminton faces this Saturday a new day of competition in the Cabildo Games at the Leticia Batista Municipal Pavilion in El Chorrillo, in the municipality of El Rosario. Just under a hundred players from the under-9, under-11 and under-13 categories will mobilize starting at 9:00 a.m. to give their best just one step away from the finals, in this competition organized by the Cabildo in collaboration with the Canarian Badminton Federation.
Also in the south of the island, the volleyball Beach It celebrates its second day on Saturday at Los Cristianos Beach, in Arona. The matches will be played under the tutelage of the Tenerife Island Handball Federation and will involve around 100 cadet category players.
The call for Saturday, May 25 will be completed with the finals of the Insular League of volleyball, in the youngest, juvenile, infant and male and female cadet categories. The matches will be played in La Laguna, at the Juan Ríos Tejera Municipal Pavilion and the Alberto Delgado Municipal Pavilion, starting at 9:00 am. The volleyball competition is organized jointly with the Tenerife Island Volleyball Federation.
