1. FC Heidenheim’s plans for another Bundesliga season continue to progress. On Thursday the club announced the signing of Maximilian Breunig. The center forward comes from the second representative of SC Freiburg and has a contract until 2027. In the current third division season, the 23-year-old has scored eleven goals in 24 games so far.

“We hope that he will take these next sporting steps together with us and that he will thus contribute to our big goal of achieving relegation in the Bundesliga,” said Heidenheim’s head of sports, Robert Strauss, about the native Würzburger, who also has two short appearances in the Bundesliga this season.

In Heidenheim, Breunig is already the fifth new signing for the coming season after Julian Niehues, Mathias Honsak, Luca Kerber and Sirlord Conteh. On the last matchday, the promoted team could move up to eighth place and, depending on the outcome of the finals in the DFB Cup and the Champions League, still qualify for an international competition.
