Italy – AC Milan’s decision to kick Stefano Pioli from his coaching position was widely regretted. One of them is the former Italian national team coach, Cesare Prandelli.

Cesare Prandelli thinks what Stefano Pioli has done at AC Milan is very good. The team can continue to develop and the players’ potential can be increased.

“For me, they did a bad thing by sending Stefano Pioli away. In five years he has shown that he has seriousness, ability, he won the Scudetto, he made the most of many players,” said Prandelli, quoted from Football Italia.

This season, Milan managed to finish in second place in the Serie A standings, but was far behind Inter Milan, who won the title. According to Prandelli, Pioli’s situation is not good.

“This year he has had a season with a lot of injuries and a lot of physical problems with players. I will definitely keep Pioli,” said the 66 year old tactician.

It is also not easy for Milan to compete with Inter Milan this season. The squad coached by Simone Inzaghi is considered by Prandelli to have good quality.

“This is an interesting season from many points of view. Inter Milan dominates and deserves this title,” said Prandelli.

“They have the continuity, the mentality, the ability to maintain the goal of winning the Scudetto at certain moments in the season. Many teams are fighting for the title.”
