Alexander Nübel and Manuel Neuer are currently preparing together with the German national team for the European Championships at home, which begin on June 14th.
During the DFB team’s preparation camp, Nübel spoke at a press conference about a possible return to FC Bayern and thus a renewed collaboration with Neuer: “Manu is here, Manu is fit – as long as he is at Bayern, it makes little sense for me to come back,” the current VfB Stuttgart legionnaire shattered the hopes of all Bayern fans of an early return.
Nübel was loaned to Stuttgart last summer by the German record champions and played a major role in VfB’s sensational run with numerous brilliant saves. The Munich team have also loaned the 27-year-old to Stuttgart for the coming season.
Neuer’s contract will end in the summer of 2025, and it is quite possible that Nübel will then take over the place between the posts for the German record champions.
Like Neuer, the international player moved from Schalke to Säbener Straße in the summer of 2020. However, he was unable to prevail against the 35-year-old and sought match practice with loans to Monaco and Stuttgart.
