Gary Harris had an eventful season in Orlando. He started on the bench, before being hampered by multiple injuries, especially in January, which deprived the player of 28 matches in total. Then finally, after the All-Star Game, he became a starter. A place in the major five that he will keep in the playoffs, against the Cavaliers.
“Injuries are part of the game. I’ve had plenty of them during my career. It’s a shame, but the staff did a superb job of helping me, getting me back as quickly as possible, especially for this Game 7”, he explains.
All while having his worst season statistically since his first campaign in the league, with only 6.9 points on average in 24 minutes. Still, he’s enjoyed this strange season and since he’s free this summer, maybe he’ll want to stay in Florida.
“I loved these moments with the team this year. I have enjoyed my experience here since I have been in Orlando. I love it, I only have positive things to say”, he assures. “I don’t know what free agency will be like. I’ll take it one day at a time, but I enjoyed being here. I love my teammates and I think we can build something special. »
Gary Harris promotes the Magic
The player, who will turn 30 in September, has brought his experience and his outside skills (39% 3-point success in the colors of the Magic) to Orlando since his arrival in February 2021. If he is not sure of continuing with the Magic with the contract he desires (his physical fragility could worry the managers), the former Denver player still thinks that Orlando can become an attractive destination for players free.
“We have a very modern training center. The climate is great. The coaching staff is excellent. There are a lot of positive things here in Orlando, as well as a good season which explains the little buzz that exists now”.
