“What are your first impressions after your victory?
It was a difficult match against a good top 10 player. Before the match, I was really under pressure. I think I could be even more relaxed, but right now I’m just content and happy. On the first lost match point (at 5-2), I was very stressed, I took a few seconds to settle down and say to myself: “ok, now let’s go back to the basic things, which I know”. And then I was really able to get back into the game.
It was your first Roland-Garros since your naturalization in June 2023, did you have the feeling of being adopted?
In the audience someone shouted: “this is your home”, so of course playing here gives me even more motivation. I love playing in France, for the public and for my team too. So if everyone likes me, that’s a huge bonus.
