Yannick Hanfmann was able to prevail against Any Murray in Geneva.

The match was initially evenly matched, Hanfmann then had two break chances at 4:4, which Murray thwarted. But at 5:5, the Karlsruher struck with a forehand winner on the return – to nil. And then served without losing any points to win the set (in the end there were twelve points in a row).

In the second round, Hanfmann was clearly the better player, two breaks to 2:1 and 4:1 seemed to be the preliminary decision – then it started to trickle down. Murray quickly insisted on a termination, Hanfmann would have liked to continue; The increasing rain then led to the decision to cancel. The game continued at midday today and Yannick Hanfmann didn’t let his lead be taken away.

Hanfmann is now calling for Novak Djokovic

After his ankle injury in March, not many expected Andy Murray to play matches on the clay this year. But in Geneva the Brit is now returning to the ATP Tour after the 37-year-old was already in action on the Challenger Tour last week –

On Monday, Daniel Altmaier lost in the first round against Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena in two sets. Hanfmann will now face Novak Djokovic in the next round, who wants to gain some necessary match practice by taking part in Geneva shortly before Roland-Garros and can enjoy the benefits of a bye in the first round.

Here is the individual tableau in Geneva.
