Yannick Hanfmann was able to prevail against Any Murray in Geneva.
The match was initially evenly matched, Hanfmann then had two break chances at 4:4, which Murray thwarted. But at 5:5, the Karlsruher struck with a forehand winner on the return – to nil. And then served without losing any points to win the set (in the end there were twelve points in a row).
In the second round, Hanfmann was clearly the better player, two breaks to 2:1 and 4:1 seemed to be the preliminary decision – then it started to trickle down. Murray quickly insisted on a termination, Hanfmann would have liked to continue; The increasing rain then led to the decision to cancel.
