Yesterday, May 28, the new Archery Training Center was inaugurated. Big party at Arcieri Città di Terni for the delivery of the first part of the works that will embellish the federal center in via del Centenario 100. A weight room, new larger and more functional changing rooms, a canteen with a view of the external competition field and a coverage that allows the transition from the new structure to the gym. These are the interventions included in the first part of the works carried out thanks to the water fees. “The first batch required an investment of 400 thousand euros – explains Stefano Tombesi, president of the Archers City of Terni – on this day of celebration I want to say thank you to all those volunteers who helped us achieve this goal in such a short time. Today ours is certainly a center of excellence at a national level both for Archery and for Pararchery and why not also for other sports. On the other hand, ours is an advanced and multipurpose system”.
Archery Training Center, Pancalli “Sport that never stops”
Many guests did not want to miss this important day for the Archers of Terni. Among these the president of the Italian Paralympic Committee Luca Pancalli: “It’s always nice to come back. Especially when returning leads you to discover how much has continued to be invested in a sports venue which is not only a response to those who are already part of the great Italian archery family but which will represent a place of community and dissemination of this spectacular discipline capable of always giving great satisfaction to the Olympic and Paralympic world. Seeing how passionate and stimulated managers continue to invest is beautiful because it gives the sense of a sport that never stops.”
Fitarco “The most important structure in central Italy”
From one president to another, the number one of Fitarco was also present Mario Scarsella: “This facility is not only important for the City of Terni Archers who will be the ones who will use it the most but it is also important for the entire national archery system. This is the most usable and suitable structure in central Italy for the world of able-bodied people and for the Paralympic world. Having this plant in Italy and near Rome is the best we could ask for, as well as from the politicians and those who built it and had the courage to start this adventure. Now we hope to see the second tranche of the works completed soon.”
800 thousand euros from the Region
The second part of the intervention involves the construction, on the upper floor, of the rooms so as to create a real guesthouse. In the meantime, however, the Arcieri Città di Terni are enjoying the first part of the work carried out, as mentioned thanks to the water fees made available by the Umbria Region. “This is one of the two loans for a total of 800 thousand euros that the Region has given to the Municipality of Terni to complete the entire structure serving the center – explains the Regional Councilor Enrico Melasecche – which has allowed you to participate in Italian Championships and many other competitions for years. Thanks to the Region, Terni is taking steps forward, capitalising, structuring itself and this undoubtedly serves to improve its future attractiveness”.
