Indonesian National team entered Group B of the 2024 AFF Cup (ASEAN Cup) with Vietnam, the Philippines, Myanmar and Laos. Garuda will visit Vietnam’s headquarters.
In the official schedule released by the ASEAN Cup, Shin Tae-yong’s team will play their first match against Myanmar away from home on November 24. Then host Laos three days later or on November 27.
In just three days, Indonesia will compete again. This time Indonesia will be hosted by Vietnam on November 30.
And in the final match, Indonesia will meet the Philippines. This home match is scheduled to be held on December 7.
Vietnam will clearly be Indonesia’s main competitor in the group phase. Moreover, Vietnam has the advantage of being able to play as host when they meet Indonesia.
To qualify for the semifinals, the Indonesian National Team must be group winners or runners-up. If you win the group you will meet the runner-up of Group A, if you are the runner-up you will meet the winner of Group A.
In the previous edition, namely 2022, Indonesia successfully advanced to the preliminary round, namely the semifinals. However, Vietnam stopped their steps because they lost 0-2 on aggregate.
Vietnam then met Thailand in the final. Thailand finally emerged as champions after winning 3-2 on aggregate over Vietnam.
