International Judo Tournament Hosted by Les Ours Occitans: A Sporting Celebration with 300 Participants from 14 Countries

the essential Les Ours occitans hosted an international judo tournament with 300 participants from 14 countries, offering a great sporting celebration.

Saturday May 25 and Sunday May 26, the Occitan Bears spoke in English, an international tournament required: 300 judokas, adults and children, from 14 countries, competed on the Grisolles tatami mats. Among them, Fetra Ratsimiziva, participating in the 2012 Olympic Games for Madagascar.

In an atmosphere that was both combative and friendly, several delegations competed in the socio-cultural space room, from Saturday morning until the rugby match was broadcast on the big screen, then on Sunday morning. Mascot, parade of delegations, cups for all the judokas, nothing was missing to make these meetings a great celebration.

While the athletes competed inside, an inflatable castle and three large marquees with free games and various activities were available to the children outside.

At the end of the Saturday tournament, everyone gathered to watch the rugby final on a giant screen. The victory was widely applauded.

Patrick Ferrara and all the volunteers who participated in this day (and in the preparation which lasted a year) were delighted with how it went. This event was able to take place thanks to the logistics provided by the town hall, with the strong involvement of Mayor Serge Castella and Karine Vigneau, elected official, in the associations.

The Bears will participate this weekend in the French cadet and junior club team championships in Paris, with their champion teams from Occitanie.

During the holidays, classes will continue every Tuesday, and three high-level courses are planned at the end of August and in September.
