Karl-Anthony Towns Leads Timberwolves to Victory Against Nuggets with Stellar Performance

On a fateful night on offense for Anthony Edwards, at times it seemed like Minnesota had nothing to do against Denver. However, Karl-Anthony Towns refused to give up. In the first half, when nothing was going well for the Timberwolves, the center kept his team alive. In the second, when it was either comeback or be eliminated, he took a step forward in defense against Nikola Jokic. His great performance was key to the Wolves’ victory; so much so that his coach, Chris Finch, does not skimp on his praise.

«I think you can see how calm and happy he is now. Every young player has a moment where they think they can do it all by themselves, but in this league no one can… I couldn’t be happier and prouder for him. “I think at times he has faced a lot of unfair criticism when it comes to the playoffs,” he expresses.

Towns, chosen as number one in the draft in 2015, scored 23 points in Game 7 against the Nuggets with 12 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block. He was really good as were other teammates while Edwards was 6 of 24 from the field. The shooting guard attributes all the credit for the victory to his teammates.

«It was difficult because I couldn’t find my rhythm tonight, so I had to trust my teammates… I just had to make the right plays for the rest of the game. So I did and my teammates made the shots. “To recognize what those boys have done,” he says.
