The news was reported by The Athletic, according to which there has been no progress in the negotiations between the two parties. Golden State would like to keep the player, but the financial demands are considered too important (in 2023/24 he earned over 40 million dollars). According to the media, Thompson would in any case like to continue playing for the title: consequently, unless there are sensational contracts, signing him with a franchise in the midst of a rebuild is ruled out. For him, 33 years old, he will average 17.9 points in 2023/24 with 3.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 38.7% from three points.
