The swan, like the Swan, has a permanently damaged right wing. She used to live in Strážnice near Hodonín, but some time ago she ended up in the rescue center in Buchlovice. They do have a group of swans there, a male and two females, but she was not accepted into it. The male threatened to kill her.
She got a groom and a luxurious home
“The swan was left here for vinegar. After publishing the information that the Kaskáda golf complex could have a new home with the groom, we did not hesitate for a second. One phone call was all it took and the golfers took her away immediately. They send us pictures of her so we know she’s fine. She got a luxurious home,” Karel Tomeček, chairman of the Buchlovice rescue station, told Novinkám.

Swan dating between golf holes was not easy. The grounds manager Jiří Kapeš wanted the swan to have peace and time to get used to its new home. Therefore, it was launched at a different end of the complex than where the Swan was located. Kaskada is one of the largest golf areas in the Czech Republic, so it took the couple several days to find it. “On first contact, the male chose the wooing tactic of feigning disinterest. It took a while,” Kaskáda spokeswoman Veronika Mojžíšová said with a smile.
A closely watched couple
The swans have been together since first contact. Instead of choosing the right club to hit, Cascade golfers now communicate whether the swans are “5 stone” or “7 wood,” which is the designation for the holes. The name for the swan and whether they can have young are being decided.

And it’s off to the groom! A maintenance worker at the Kaskáda golf course transports a swan that has found a new home there.
As the couple then make their way together across the perfectly manicured lawn from one pond to the other, play is stopped and Swan and his partner then pose for golfers as they take pictures.
The service includes regular meals, pond cleaning, and the couple also has facilities in case of bad weather or winter. The cascade with its 27 holes was built between Brno and Kurimi in 2006. It is played all year round, in winter with colored balls. It is also the venue for international competitions.

It has been built as a natural complex since its inception. “We also have our own bees. Our ponds have been home to around 15 injured swans so far. Unfortunately, Labuťák was left alone years ago. We felt sorry for him, but he finally got a happy ending and that’s very good,” the spokeswoman added.
