Great news for local handball, six players from our province were summoned to the Argentine handball preselection.
The San Juan summons is for three women and three men, belonging to the cadet category, which includes 15-16 years old, who will be part of a national concentration. It will have a regional character, since it will bring together talents from San Juan, the City of Mendoza and San Rafael, and San Luis.
The San Juan handball players who are the protagonists of the news are Delfina Domínguez, Lourdes Gutiérrez, Morena Correa, Jorge Irribaren, Lautaro Navas and Lionel Calvo.
Delfina Domínguez, the goalkeeper, is the most experienced of this sextet, since she has been a member of the national team for two years, when she belonged to the minor category.
The meeting is scheduled for this Wednesday, May 1, in the morning, at the National University of Cuyo club, in front of San Martín Park, in the capital of Mendoza.
The work with the preselection will last one day. The technical staff will evaluate the physical condition of the summoned athletes, and will carry out a diagnosis of their performance and sporting news. They will also carry out training on the playing field.
The next national concentration and group training is scheduled to take place on May 25, also in Mendoza.
The call is given within the framework of the Development and Future 2028 program, carried out by the Argentine Handball Confederation, an entity supported by the provincial federations.
