On the same day that Real Madrid plays the Champions League final in London, the capital hosts the truly great sporting event of the weekend. This Sunday, June 1, the 11th edition of the Madrid Cooperative Basketball League reaches its culmination, with a day of matches integrated into the popular festivals of Doña Karloto de Vallecas.

A competition organized as an assembly in which the teams are mixed, self-referee and both participation and attendance are free. In fact, registration in the 3×3 tournament (to the email [email protected]) replaces a monetary contribution with donations to the popular food bank. The money raised is sent to Palestine, through the international popular sports network in which the Basket Beat Borders project of Palestinian refugees is integrated.
The activity will start at 11:00 with the aforementioned 3×3 tournament, which will be followed by a fairplay match at 2:00 p.m. Later, the four finals from league D to A will arrive between 3:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. All of these matches will be played on the basketball courts of the Colonia de los Taxistas in the Numancia neighborhood, located in the Puente de Vallecas district.
“We will have material, the best music and the great solidarity raffle to cover the expenses of the organization. Once again, and it’s been 11 years, creating and enjoying popular sports,” anticipates the Cooperative League account on social networks.
