Marc Marquez Eyes Partnership with Ducati for 2025 season

Jakarta

Marc Marquez entered the market for new Ducati riders for 2025. Francesco Bagnaia feels that Marquez will be able to make a big contribution in the future.

The Italian factory team is still considering its second rider after extending Bagnaia’s contract until 2026. Recently there have been two strong options, namely choosing between Marquez or Jorge Martin.

Jorge Martin is still stable since becoming runner-up last season. The Pramac racer topped the temporary MotoGP standings with 92 points, won three times in a total of the first eight races, and only retired once after falling at Jerez last weekend.

On the other hand, Marc Marquez appeared impressive in his debut season with Gresini. The eight-time world champion is competitive after twice finishing second in the sprint, and once finishing runner-up in the main race in Jerez.

In the last race mentioned, Marquez attracted great attention. Even though he uses GP23, an older version of the Desmosedici, the Baby Alien is able to fight fiercely against Pecco Bagnaia in the last rounds.

“I don’t know. Marc comes from 12 years at the Honda team, and I’m sure he can contribute something to a factory team like Ducati. However, for now we are very competitive,” said the back to back MotoGP world champion.

“We really pay attention to every detail. We are at a very high level, so Marquez will adapt well to the situation,” Bagnaia added as quoted Autosport.

It is reported that Ducati will only confirm Bagnaia’s partnership after the Italian MotoGP, early June. “Well, we’ll see… we’ll see, okay? Between now and the next two months the driver market will be more stable and we will be able to see a little of the future,” said Jaime Martinez, manager Marc Marquez.
