Marinos crushed Gaiteros and remains undefeated

With a stellar performance from their import, Marinos de Oriente crushed Gaiteros del Zulia 92-65 this Friday at the Rutaca Sport Arena to extend their undefeated record to 4-0.

Marinos was vastly superior in the paint, scoring 46 points to just 16 for the opponent. But he also knew how to capitalize on second opportunities and counterattacks. He shot 57% from the field and 71% from two.

The game started very evenly, in fact the first quarter ended tied at 20. But in the second half Marinos took off, leveraging long-distance shots, and managed to reach halftime up by almost 20 points (54-35).

Upon returning from the locker room the game was once again more balanced, but Gaiteros never found the formula to recover from the ambush of the second quarter.

Four Marinos players finished in double figures. Landers Nolley li was the top scorer with 20 points, followed by Joshua Ibarra who flirted with a double-double by scoring 16 points and capturing eight rebounds.

Jordan Glynn added 12 counters and Carlos Lemus another three.

For Gaiteros, who left their record at 1-3, the best was Jerry Evans with 15 points and four rebounds
