McLaren Boss Zak Brown Predicts Intense Battle Between Lando Norris and Max Verstappen

McLaren boss Zak Brown has spoken about how he thinks a head-to-head fight between Lando Norris and Max Verstappen could turn out.

On the first Sunday in May, Lando Norris finally took his first victory more than five years after his F1 debut.

And although Norris was helped by the timing of the safety car in Miami, many now believe that the Briton can more often compete with the so far sovereign Verstappen and regularly challenge him in battles for victory.

This opinion is shared by the executive director of McLaren Zak Brown, who in this context let it be known that he believes in his driver.

“I think Lando can beat Max in a straight fight. I would say that it would be an amazing fight and that many such races would end in tears - For one driver or the other, possibly for both,” said the executive head of McLaren, as quoted by Autosport.

“In my opinion, in terms of raw talent, I’ve never seen anyone faster than Lando. I’m sure Max is just as fast. Some people will definitely disagree with me, but we won’t know the truth until we see them in the same car,” said the American businessman, who is also convinced that Norris will move further thanks to the win.

“When a driver gets his first win, it’s something. I remember it from my own experience… When a rider wins for the first time, he relaxes. Because if you try too hard, it doesn’t help you,” added Brown.
