Today, Mulino thanked the congratulations and messages sent by other leaders of America, after his victory in the May 5 elections.

“Thank you to the presidents of the different countries who have communicated with me in these hours after the victory. I will be a guarantor of Panama’s good relations with the world and the strengthening of security in the region,” he wrote on his X account.

Mulino rose with the presidency by achieving 34% of the votes above Ricardo Lombana’s 25%, which was relegated to second place.

After the election night in Panama, different presidents and governments from the region have sent their congratulations to Mulino from Costa Rica, Ecuador, Argentina, Honduras, Venezuela, Peru, Mexico and the United States.

The first to congratulate him was, apparently, the president of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, through a call, the first from a “presidential friend and colleague.”
