In a tough tournament with players from N2 and N3, it was ultimately the N3 badists who ruled the roost in the men’s singles this Saturday during the Gulf tournament, 18th of the name, with a Baptiste Conry final from Erdre BC against Nolfféen Michaël Phomsoupha. A victory built on the perfect score of two sets to nothing (21-13 and 21-14). A victory “that I didn’t really expect, against very good opponents in a very open field,” confessed the latter after the match point. At 33, the Nolfféen, trained at the Racing Club de France, played for more than a decade in the top 12 French clubs under the leadership of Quang Tram but also during his training course, under the orders of Yannick Rival in the hopes and sport studies pole.
Simple pleasure
Of Thai origin, from a family that took refuge in France, Michaël Phomsoupha is today a lecturer at the UCO of Arradon and educational manager for the Staps degree.
