NHL | Rittich signed a new NHL contract in Los Angeles

Rittich, born in Jihlava, has statistically the most successful season in the overseas competition. In 24 duels, 22 of which he started, he scored career highs in average goals per game (2.15), hit percentage (92.1) and clean sheets (3).

At the same time, Rittich started the season on a farm in Ontario, and the Kings did not call him up to the main team until shortly before Christmas. The 2018 World Cup participant also caught two playoff games, but didn’t prevent losses and a 1st round elimination by Edmonton.

Rittich became a Los Angeles player last July, when he signed a one-year, one-way contract for $875,000 with the Californian club as a free agent. The former goalkeeper of the Mladá Boleslav extra-league entered the NHL in the 2016/17 season as an undrafted player in the Calgary jersey. He also caught for Toronto, Nashville and Winnipeg.

In the regular season, Rittich has 196 games to his credit with an average of 2.78 goals per game and a hit rate of 87.2 percent. He caught four times in the playoffs, in 2020 he participated in the NHL All-Star Game.
