“Dubuļi Stirnu buks” was held in Rēzekne region, gathering two and a half thousand participants.
This was also the Latvian ultra-long distance trail running championship. 212 participants took part in the 76 km long distance, starting at six in the morning at Lūznava manor, to finish in the highest Latvian village Dubuli, Rēzekne district, where the participants of all other distances completed their races. Some members of the “Noskrien Cēsis” team also accepted the challenge of the championship, but did not reach the podium. The best result was the 59th place overall for Mārtiņš Trei (23rd in the VL2 group), while for the ladies, the 8th place in their SL1 group and 62nd in the absolute rating went to Baiba Gabrānei.
Let’s take a look at how the runners of Cēsu region fared in other distances. Kristiāns Ezeriņš (Vecpiebalga High School) entered the top 10 fastest in the students’ championship, showing the eighth best time, while Estere Pixone was the sixth fastest among schoolgirls.
In their age groups: Adele Miller (“Noskrien Cēsis”) in 3rd place in the U10S group; the first in the U14V group is K. Ezeriņš (Vecpiebalga); in the U14S group 4. Adele Šlēziņa (Cēsi 1st primary school); in the U16V group 6. Ernests Skride (DACVĘ); in the U16S group 2. Ester Pixone.
In the “Zaķis” distance, trail rider Anita Ieviņa won in her SZ4 group, while the second places were won by: Pēteris Grīviņš (“Trailinity”) in the VZ2 group, Estere Wolfa in the SZ1 group, Lauris Veidemanis (“Noskrien Cēsis” in the VZ3 group); third place in VZ4 group Ivars Orashevskis, fifth place in VZ2 group Ainārs Drozds.
In the distance “Stirnu buks” Jānis Olengovićs (“Virsotne”/ MARMOT/ “Pūpolegles”) finished seventh in the absolute rating, but was sixth in his VB1 group.
