On May 25 and 26, a traditional tennis competition took place at the LOC tennis courts of Jurmala Park – the Silver “Wilson” prize competition for the U12 age group. The competition was won by Johnny Thor Martens (“V Tennis Academy”) and Jaroslava Golovanova from Liepāja, the Liepaja Tennis Sports School informed.
A total of 13 young men and 16 young women participated in the competition. Liepāja Tennis Sports School was widely represented, but representatives from other Latvian cities also participated in the competition.
In the boys’ competition, the victory was won by the 2nd-seeded Johnny Thor Martens (“V Tennis Academy”), the 2nd place was won by the 1st-seeded Deniss Grigulevich (Orange Tennis Group), and the 3rd-seeded Kārlis Gustavs Hamitov from Liepāja.
In the girls competition, Jaroslava Golovanova, seeded with number 3 from Liepāja, climbed to the top step, who beat Veronika Melanchenko from Liepaja, seeded with number 4, in the equal final game and left her in 2nd place. Laura Devrinde from Liepāja completed the podium in 3rd place.
The competition, which has become a long-standing tradition, is supported by the official representative of “Wilson” in Latvia – SIA “Intrad”.
