Eliminated in the first round of “Opening Week” this Monday at Porte d’Auteuil, the two French people will not see the main draw of the 2024 edition of Roland-Garros.

Neither Benoît Paire nor Lucas Pouille will see the main draw of the 2024 edition of Roland-Garros. The two Frenchmen lost on Monday in the first round of qualifying. Paire, 35 years old and former eighth-finalist Porte d’Auteuil (2019), lost in two sets against Slovakian Jozef Kovalik (6-1, 6-4). The Avignon player notably let the first round slip away in barely 20 minutes.

For his part, Lucas Pouille, 30 years old and whose best result on Parisian clay is a 3rd round (2017 and 2018), lost in two sets against the Serbian Hamad Medjedovic (6-3, 7-5). His match was marked by the inauguration of the new roof of the Suzanne-Lenglen court after a downpour temporarily interrupted the game. The second court at Roland-Garros is used for the very first time in the qualifying tournament.
