Passenger Breaks Wheels of Oversized Suitcase to Avoid Ryanair Fee – Earns Applause from Fellow Travelers

Ryanair has had specific dimensions for hand luggage for many years. Anyone who wants to take larger suitcases or backpacks into the aircraft cabin must pay an additional fee. Spanish Daniel Daniel Gámez thought his suitcase was small enough, but when he wanted to check in, that turned out not to be the case. To avoid having to pay an extra 70 euros, he broke the wheels of his oversized suitcase with brute force. And that ‘trick’ worked, because he was allowed on board afterwards without any problems. The daring action already earned him loud applause from his fellow travelers.
