REC National Tournament: A New Era of Excellence

“It’s no longer a showcase of bad things. » Of course, the REC national tournament will no longer regain its former glory. A time when, in the 2000s, it welcomed the cream of the national racers. However, as the former president, Jean-Philippe Végée, points out, the event still attracts a lot of people: “The club is satisfied with the attendance, with 200 players from the Great West. »

On a sporting level, a few surprises punctuated these two days, as Jean-Philippe Végée remarks: “In series 1, the number 1 in the men’s singles table, Guillaume Morin (Saint-Jacques) was eliminated in the semi-finals. As a result, it was Louis Guénard (FIB) who won. At the REC level, we are happy with the victory of Aymeric de Tombeur who, associated with Mathieu Latournerie (Montrouge), won the mixed doubles, still in series 1. »
