Thai Defender Jonathan Khemdee Apologizes After Outcry Over National Team Snub

tvOnenews.com – Thai defender Jonathan Khemdee, who was once a sworn enemy of Indonesian national team fans, apologized after being angry because he was not included in the War Elephant squad.

Jonathan Khemdee’s name is missing from the squad called by coach Masatada Ishii to face the final two matches of the 2026 World Cup Qualifications next June.

Coach Masatada Ishii called up 27 players to take part in the two Group C matches against China and Singapore without Jonathan Khemdee who performed well with Ratchaburi FC.

After being ignored, the player who was the main enemy of Indonesian national team fans in the 2023 SEA Games final protested by uploading a number of posts on his personal Instagram stories.

Jonathan Khemdee re-uploaded several of his fans’ posts which contained a tone of protest regarding coach Masatada Ishii’s decision.

In one of his posts, Jonathan Khemdee re-uploaded a story from the ratchaburi.info account which questioned Masatada Ishii not calling himself even though he managed to become the best player of the week in the Thai League 23/24.
