Scarcity in flights and accommodation

These packages usually include transfers to and from the stadium and there are also options with accommodation. That is another headache. Hotels and apartments near Wembley are scarce and in central London it is difficult to find a room for less than 300 euros.

Dortmund fans asked for… 400,000 tickets!

If in Madrid the requests for tickets (62,708) tripled those available (the club in the end distributed 18,982), in Dortmund the expectation for the final is overflowing. The Aurinegro club received 400,000 requests for tickets to be at Wembley, 16 times more than the quota of tickets (around 25,000) that UEFA has given to each finalist. To put the magnitude of the phenomenon in context, the Rhineland city does not have 600,000 inhabitants…

Dortmund, which raffled off its tickets on Wednesday, accepted ticket requests from its subscribers (it has about 55,000) and members (it has around 190,000). Each one could request two tickets and the club also reserved a place for its supporters clubs (it has about a thousand that bring together more than 65,000 members). Faced with the avalanche of requests, Dortmund reminds its members that ticket resale is prohibited and that those who carry it out face fines of up to 2,500 euros and tickets will be blocked.

Flight prices from Germany are also sky-high and reach 1,300 euros. But German fans have alternatives thanks to the Eurotunnel, the underwater railway tunnel that crosses the English Channel. The car journey from Dortmund takes less than eight hours and there are train journeys (with one or two transfers) of less than six hours. Some fan clubs have also organized bus trips.
