The last weekend of April was the scene of the finals of the Easter Tennis Open and two P500 category padel tournaments at the Pau Tennis Club.
On the clay courts of Pau, local Gauthier Viriot (3/6, TC Pau) managed to retain his title at the expense of Hugo Baillon (1/6, TC Luy de Béarn) at the end of a one-sided final: 6-1, 6-1. For the ladies, in a 100% Pau final, Clotilde Mulard (5/6, TC Pau) dominated Ambre Arnaud (4/6, TC Pau): 6-2, 6-2. On the 35+ side, Damien Roquebert (15/1, TC Luy de Béarn) defeated Olivier Landagaray (15/1, TC Bordes): 6-1, 6-0. Sandrine Taïeb (15/4, TC Morlaàs) got the better of Lorette Djemis (15/5, TC Pau): 7-5, 6-1.
Padel: with the French n°2
At the same time, on the padel slopes, the Basque pair composed of Caroline Daunes (n°112) and Laura Maisonnave (n°80) won the P500 ladies. On the men’s side, in a tough tournament in which Léa Godallier, French n°2 and player of the women’s World Padel Tour returning to the slopes after giving birth, took part, Jean Dumartin (n°47) and his partner Pierre Lacavalerie (n°996 ) emerged victorious after a thrilling final against locals Benjamin Berthelot (n°276) and Geoffrey Viriot (n°2468).
