Voráček started cooperating with Czech Television last year during the tournament in Brno, which was the general for the World Championship. Even in view of the viewership of the championship, however, Voráček only really impressed the audience during the national team’s matches in Prague. “It amazes me that everyone thinks that Voras’s commentating is completely different than the others. It doesn’t seem that much different to me. It seems to me a similar category to David Pospíšil or Pavel Richter. However, as Voras puts a substantive analysis into it, he has both positions that an expert commentator should have. The amazing thing about it is that it is very responsive. With a few minor exceptions, he feels exactly what is most appropriate to say at that moment,” said Záruba.

He also appreciates that Voracek still played last season, so he is not far from his active career. “He fills the category of the so-called player who now has a moment after the end of the season. He is in a transition period between a player and someone who only watches hockey from the stands.”
Does an experienced commentator have to tame him? “No, not at all!” fires Záruba.
But what about the conclusion with the United States? “Well, in this case, yes,” smiles the commentator. “However, there are moments when the spontaneity is adequate to the situation. And that on Thursday, with the huge viewership and the feelings of people watching TV, was completely adequate from Cuba for the given situation. If this was to be the case in the match of the 30th round of the extra league, it would not work well. But Cuba is intelligent enough to sense that this would not be appropriate. He has the feeling, aptitude and talent to recognize the right moment when to afford something.”
