Will Novak Djokovic Join the Geneva Open Line-Up?

With the Geneva Open draw taking place on Friday, organizers have 24 hours left to distribute their last two invitations. One of them could go to a certain… Novak Djokovic.

With the assurance of having Andy Murray on its 2024 roster, the Geneva Open has already succeeded in adding a little more to its list of great players who have set foot on its clay court. The Scot is the 6th Grand Slam winner to drop off his racket at Eaux-Vives after Stan Wawrinka, Marin Cilic, Dominic Thiem, Roger Federer and Daniil Medvedev. It’s strong. But another character, the biggest one at that, could well invite himself to the stage of this 9th edition.

Novak Djokovic was indeed approached to obtain one of the two seeds still in the hands of the organizers. Lacking results, the world No. 1 – part of whose family lives in Geneva – would have more reasons than ever to accept Bristol if he then intends to arrive at Roland-Garros in the best possible condition. But will he, who doesn’t like playing a tournament before a major event, upset his plans? The organizers of the GGO, experienced in welcoming big names, are working to convince him of this.
