1. FC Heidenheim Welcomes Young Talent Paul Wanner on Loan from FC Bayern

1. FC Heidenheim has strengthened its squad with young talent Paul Wanner. The 18-year-old has been loaned to the Schlossberg by FC Bayern for one year.

In the past season, the Vorarlberg native gained experience in the second German Bundesliga with SV Elversberg. He is now taking the next step with Heidenheim and will get his first taste of international football in the Conference League playoffs.

Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund says: “Paul Wanner is ready for the next level. The aim now is to permanently achieve the level of the first league.” With Frank Schmidt’s team, he has “every opportunity to take another big step, especially since the club is also represented internationally in the Conference League.”

Wanner: “Step comes at the right time”

“I’m looking forward to this new challenge and will do everything I can to help FCH stay in the league. I believe that the step into the Bundesliga comes at the right time for me and I would like to thank FC Bayern and FCH for the chance to prove that now,” says the midfielder.

Heidenheim’s CEO, Holger Sanwald, is delighted: “Paul is still a very young but exceptionally talented offensive player with enormous development potential. Last season he was already a key player in the second division in Elversberg and has thus attracted further attention. We are all the more pleased that Paul has chosen FCH and that this loan has now come about thanks to a partnership solution between FC Bayern Munich and us.”
