Last week, Chatzialexiou announced how the club wants to position itself in the coming period: He envisions a “good axis with two or three leading players” around which new talents should grow – similar to successful teams such as Leverkusen or Stuttgart. Klose has already worked as a coach at the Austrian club SCR Altach. Before that, he gained coaching experience with the U17 team of FC Bayern Munich and as assistant coach of the professionals. He also worked for the DFB after his playing career ended. Klose said he “didn’t have to think long” about the offer from Nuremberg.
The long-time national player became world champion with Germany in 2014. Klose is also the record goalscorer at the World Cup with a total of 16 goals.
