2024 TC Foix Tennis Tournament Draws Impressive Attendance

The 2024 TC Foix tournament started on June 22, on the Layroule plain.

To date, attendance has been significant, proof of the appeal of this event. “51 girls are registered, including 29 from outside TC Foix, and 166 boys, including 95 from outside, making a total of 217,” says Morgane Jouve, assistant treasurer. 2nd series players can still register before June 30.

Morgane Jouve estimates that “by the time registrations close, the figure of 300 players will be reached or even exceeded. This is better than in 2023”.

In order to avoid crowding the courts, warm-ups take place 5 minutes before the start of the match, hence the importance of fine-tuning the preparation well in advance.

The categories

The ladies’, men’s, men’s doubles and youth categories are registered in multi-chance tournaments in order to continue playing in the event of premature elimination from the main draws.

The ladies’ and gentlemen’s semi-finals will be played on Sunday 7 July in the morning; the ladies’ and gentlemen’s finals in the afternoon.

Jean-François Dunac from Fuxé is the official federal referee.

As for the volunteers, “their number is clearly insufficient,” Morgane claims, “because they are multifunctional and therefore very busy.”

The revenues from refreshment stands and catering are high. This tournament can be organized without too much fear of financial losses, success seems assured.

The town hall of Foix, as usual, has provided a significant amount of equipment, including essential marquees and stands.
