Olympic Judo in Forio d’Ischia with the 8th Summer Camp, an event organized by the island company, Olympic Judo Forio, in memory of Adriana Serpico. The island will be dressed in blue with the presence at the event of the two Olympians Susy Scutto (athlete of the Fiamme Gialle sports group Guardia di Finanza), first in the world ranking of the -48 kg category and Antonio Esposito (athlete of the Fiamme Azzure – Penitentiary Police) , ninth in the world ranking in the category – 81 kg. Supporting the two champions will be Antonio Ciano, coach of the Fiamme Gialle sports group and collaborator of the Italian Judo national team. The guests, all “sons of Vesuvius”, will fly to Paris 2024 after the event to represent our Italy at the next Olympics.
The increasingly numerous presence of judokas will see in this edition 32 companies from all over Italy with around 500 athletes and technicians. Never have so many athletes been hosted by the green island in such a judo event, so much so as to involve the presence of the National President of the FIJLKAM Judo sector Giuseppe Matera who did not want to miss this edition. There will be no shortage of presence of the regional representatives of the Italian Judo Federation FIJLKAM President of the Campania Regional Committee Antonio Bracciante and Regional President of the Judo Sector Bruno D’Isanto who have always been supporters of the event. Also guest was the technician of the Fiamme Oro of the State Police and head of the Italian National University Massimo Parlati. During the event, a souvenir of this three days of judo will be given to the Mayor of the municipality of Forio, Dr. Stani Verde to the director of the Ischia Police Station Deputy Chief of Police Dr. Ciro Re and the Principal of the Comprehensive Institute Dr. Paola De Vita, institutional figures of the territory who have always been close to the society which with its work and the rules of sport and judo has around 150 children enrolled in the beautiful Foriana reality, now which has become one of the most followed and practiced sports in terms of number of members. A final applause goes to the organizers, the technicians Maurizio Bianculli and Domenico D’angelo of the Olympic Judo Forio company and to the secretary of the same, Peppe Serpico. This year too they managed to have the presence of the top players in World Judo on the island.
