After recovering from the injury, Porzingis is expected to take a long break from sports

After recovering from a foot injury, Kristaps Porzingis could return to the court in five to six months, the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association (NBA) announced on Thursday.

Porzingis underwent foot surgery on Thursday to repair the ligaments and strengthen the posterior tibial ligament in his left leg. “It is expected that Porzingis will return to the court in five to six months,” said the “Celtics” statement.

The NBA regular season usually starts in the second half of October, so it is understandable that Porzingis will not play in the first month of the 2024/2025 season.

Porzingis, who won the NBA championship with the Celtics last Monday, suffered a rare foot injury in the second game of the finals.

Due to a foot injury, Porzingis did not participate in two games of the final series. Another injury kept him out of most of the playoffs.
