Ajax in an advanced stage with Wout Weghorst, who would love to go to Amsterdam

The talks between Ajax and Wout Weghorst are at an advanced stage, transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano reported on Wednesday morning. In addition, the Amsterdammers are said to be increasingly optimistic about the negotiations with Burnley, where the 31-year-old striker is still contracted until mid-2025. Ajax hopes to bring Weghorst to the Johan Cruijff ArenA for a low fee.
According to Romano, the discussions between Ajax and Weghorst about his personal conditions are going well. “All parties are confident that the deal will be concluded,” the journalist said.

There will still be negotiations between Ajax and Burnley, but the Amsterdammers are convinced that everything will work out. Transfermarkt estimates Weghorst’s market value at 6 million euros, but it appears that Ajax is betting on a lower transfer fee. Voetbal International and Algemeen Dagblad reported on June 7 that Ajax is targeting Weghorst. According to VI, the 31-year-old attacker can be picked up for a ‘reasonable price’ in the northwest of England.
Journalist Tim van Duijn of Voetbal International confirmed that Ajax has inquired with Burnley about Weghorst’s services. The journalist wrote that the right wing would like to move to Amsterdam. It now appears that negotiations are going smoothly.
At first, FC Twente seemed to have good credentials to bring Weghorst back to the Netherlands. The attacker still dreams of one day coming out for his childhood sweetheart.
