Ajax hopes to do business with Bayern Munich, Florian Plettenberg reported on Friday evening on behalf of Sky Sport. The Amsterdammers are betting on a rental deal for Lovro Zvonarek. The nineteen-year-old attacking midfielder is still contracted until mid-2027, but can gain experience elsewhere.
Zvonarek is only nineteen years old and is seen by Bayern as a great talent. It is not without reason that the Rekordmeister recently decided to have the Croat re-signed until mid-2027.
The club is now planning the next steps in the midfielder’s career. The club is counting on him in the future, but is offering him the opportunity to gain experience elsewhere in the short term.
Ajax are not the only club in the market for Zvonarek. According to Plettenberg, FSV Mainz, Sporting Portugal and Anderlecht are also angling for the services of the talented teenager.
Zvonarek went through the youth academy in his native country at NK Slaven Belupo, before transferring to Bayern Munich in 2022. In southern Germany they soon saw enough and transferred the Croat to the main force.
Last season, Zvonarek made five appearances for Bayern’s first team, all in the Bundesliga. He even scored once. In total, the counter stands at 161 playing minutes for the flagship.
Zvonarek made his debut for the first team in a friendly against Red Bull Salzburg in January last year. In November, he was on the bench for the first time in an official match during the cup defeat against FC Saarbrücken.
Three days after his first goal in the Bundesliga, during his basic debut against VfL Wolfsburg, he signed his first professional contract with the club until 2027. Bayern thus emphasizes that it has high expectations for the only nineteen-year-old midfielder.
