Anna-Maria and Eirini-Marina Alexandri will not be able to compete in the European Championships in Belgrade next week. The reason is that Eirini-Marina is ill and has a high fever.
According to information from the Austrian Swimming Association (OSV), it is not possible to compete in the technical freestyle on Friday. A start in the freestyle was already cancelled during the week. Triplet sister Vasiliki will compete in the solo competitions from Monday.
The Alexandri duo did not compete in the World Championships in Doha in February either, because Anna-Maria had injured her shoulder. At the Olympic Games in just over a month and a half, it will have been a year since the duo last competed in a major event. The OSV team in Belgrade will now only have 26 athletes.
