Coach of countless children from different generations, one of them also remembered through social networks that he was a coach for both him and his father. «A home that lived by and for sport, especially basketball. Those of us who were lucky enough to be under his instruction know that Alfonso was one special human beingwhich combined the perfect balance between a Firm characterand huge heart and one supernatural patience “rapacious beings,” added Carlos Bas Barreiro, and stressed that “men like Pazos are born every 200 years.”
Last February, Pazos had received a tribute in andl pavilion municipality of Soutomaior, which since that moment came to bear his name. “Thank you, Alfonso Pazos, for yours dedication and implication with sport in the council, a man who loved Soutomaior so much and who helped dozens and dozens of generations so much, many of them represented there today”, they published at the time from the Council. He himself had thanked that tribute through his Facebook account. Throughout his career, he also received several recognitions of the Galician Basketball Federation for their work. In 2018, he was worthy of it Distinction for Sporting Merit of the Council of Galicia.
The mayor of Soutomaior, Manuel Lourenzohas dedicated some affectionate words to him through social networks upon learning of his death. “Thank you for everything you give us. Thank you for so many hours in the school pavilion with us. Thank you for so much patience, for so many tips… Thank you for so many childhood moments and basketball that will live in us always. there is people who live far beyond their time. Rest in peace, Alfonso. Always in our hearts,” he said.
