The Alicante archer Alexander Martin (14 years old) participated in the third and final day of the RFETA Iberdrola Junior National Archery League, cadets and those under 14 years old, in the under-18 category this weekend in the compound bow modality.

The event was held on the 22nd and 23rd in Madrid. On Saturday morning the individual qualifier was held and in the afternoon the mixed team qualifier where the Alicante goalkeeper represented the Community along with two other archers from the community. In the individual modality, the Alicante goalkeeper came second after a very close duel for gold remaining just 2 points behind.

Finally, he came second in the RFETA Iberdrola Junior, Cadets and Under-14 Archery National League in the under-18 category in his first year of participation. “At the Lucentum Archery Club we are very proud of how he and his partner Lucía Vidal have fought all the matches, always accompanied by their father and trainer Luis Martin,” the club said in a statement. “The Lucentum Archery Club and the archers would like to thank the Department of Sports of the Alicante City Council for all their support to the athletes so that they can train in their city and remain among the best in Spain.
